Fans are eager to know the exact date Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will step foot back in the ring after the loser triggered the set-in-place rematch clause

Heavyweight fans will have to wait a few more months to see Usyk and Fury back in the ring, as the title rematch is set in stone for Saturday, December 21, in Riyadh. The match saw Usyk beat Fury in a split decision, however, despite becoming undisputed champion Fury’s decision to use the re-match clause means fans will see the action all over again.

The exact time and details of the day are yet to be announced but what do know is UK viewers will be able to tune into the fight through TNT. Fans have seven months to go to get a sports package sorted in time for the ‘historical fight’.

TNT Sports, previously BT Sport, covers all of the mega sporting events including the Premier League, this summer’s UEFA Champions League from Germany, Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Boxing and WWE – to name a few. Fans can sign up through Discovery+ and bag a TNT Sports, Eurosport, and entertainment package all in one.

Turki Alalshikh, president of the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority, was the first to put speculation at bay with the official rematch date. Taking to social media to share details he said: “The world will watch another historical fight again… Our commitment to boxing fans continues… We hope you enjoy it…”

For now, the rematch is set to go ahead on the official December 21 date however TNT Sports has reported a move by Usyk’s team that could alter that. As the channel said: “Though Usyk is currently undisputed heavyweight king, there is still uncertainty as to whether this rematch will be for all the marbles.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to face each other again in a rematch this December 21. The pair will repeat their head-to-head for the prestigious WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles, despite Usyk being crowned the new undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

“‘The Cat’ took the WBC strap previously held by Fury, adding to the WBA, WBO, IBF and Ring Magazine titles he denied Anthony Joshua in 2021 and 2022. However, the IBF belt could well be vacated, with No.1 contender Filip Hrgovic due to his shot at the championship. Usyk’s team have filed a petition to keep hold of the title.”

If the appeal is unsuccessful, and Usyk refuses to defend it then boxing fans could see a last-minute throwdown between Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois live on TNT Sports Box Office for the chance to fight Anthony Josua – all the more reasons fans may be swayed to pay the £30.99 TNT Sport Discovery+ plan.
