Cleaning your oven is a difficult and time-consuming task. Spills and fallen food particles can become baked onto the surfaces of your oven

Tackling oven cleaning is both arduous and lengthy work. Spillages and dropped food bits can get firmly stuck to your oven’s interior surfaces.

Sadly, most standard oven cleaning products are highly toxic and packed with harmful chemicals that pose breathing risks. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of natural oven cleaning alternatives to refresh your appliance.

Professionals at Soapranos Cleaning Services put numerous homemade natural oven cleaning mixtures through their paces, reports the Express, and, shockingly, the top performer wasn’t white vinegar, which actually came last

They discovered that natural oven cleaners relying on white vinegar as their main active component “tend to struggle the most” when tackling stains.

Whilst white vinegar proves effective for other cleaning tasks, its acidic properties aren’t potent enough to tackle the persistent grease and dirt typically found in ovens.

Another natural cleaning ingredient also failed to deliver impressive results on oven interiors: lemon juice. Once again, whilst citric acid performs brilliantly in cleaning mixtures for worktops and baths, it lacks the strength to dissolve the hardened grime that gets baked onto oven walls.

Turning to what actually proved successful, particularly which natural remedy “worked the best”, the winner was baking soda mixed with water.

The experts noted: “Ironically, one of the most effective natural oven cleaners you can use is one of the simplest. Baking soda and water is one of the easiest cleaning solutions you can make and actually has some of the best results.”

Baking soda’s super absorbent nature makes it a champion at banishing unwanted odours from your fridge. It’s also a wizard in the oven, where it tackles stubborn grease and helps to shift burnt-on bits with ease.

To whip up this cleaning marvel for your oven, just mix two tablespoons of baking soda with three tablespoons of water until you get a consistent paste. Slather it on the inside of your oven, leave it to work its magic for 20 minutes, then simply wipe away for a sparkling finish.
