A woman going by @bethandoeslife on TikTok shared a video of herself cleaning her ‘disgusting’ floors with a viral scrubbing brush – and she was left embarrassed by the results
Cleaning floors is a chore many dread, and some even dodge it altogether.
But as grime accumulates from shoes, pets, children and more, neglecting the task can lead to a grim level of dirtiness, as one woman discovered on TikTok. Bethan, known as @bethandoeslife on the video-sharing app, encouraged her followers to join her in a cleaning spree, confessing she had let her floors get “disgusting”.
She was armed with the “viral scrub brush”, a tool that has helped many ‘cleanfluencers’ achieve impressive results, although it’s often sold out due to high demand. Bethan declared the brush was here to “save” her grimy floors.
In the video, Bethan remarked that she might have used too much water, saying: “We live and we learn.” And that water quickly turned a murky grey as she scrubbed away with the brush.
“I can’t lie, this was so satisfying to do […] just look at how much cr*p and dirt is coming off my floors,” she proudly shared. Bethan admitted she “didn’t realise they were that bad”, feeling fortunate she tackled the mess when she did. Now equipped with “this beautiful thing”, she vowed to use the brush “constantly” – humorously suggesting she might clean her floors with it “every day”.
In the video’s conclusion, she gathered the dirty water at the centre of the floor and mopped it up with kitchen roll, once again remarking on the “disgusting” sight. She admitted to being “embarrassed” about the colour of the water, yet she insisted it “just proves how well this brush works”.
In the comments section, users expressed frustration that the brush was sold out once more, with Bethan responding that they “sell out so quick”. The item is listed on Amazon here, where it seems to be back in stock for now.
