Thousands of people have reported being unable to make or receive calls as Vodafone, BT and EE all appear to be down.
Angry customers have rushed online to complain about the issues affecting their mobile coverage today – as BT’s website is also down due to “site maintenance” while customers face problems with their landlines.
Downdetector, the website for reporting technology problems, indicates a massive spike in reports of issues with Vodafone, EE and BT within the last hour.

Several networks piggy back off of EE and use it’s infrastructure and service.
These companies include 1pMobile, Lyca Mobile, Utility Warehouse, Ecotalk, Co-op Mobile and spusu.

Several major networks using Vodafone also impacted
Some networks like use the same infrastructure as Vodafone have also been impacted.
For example, Downdetector has shown a spike of issued reported for people using Lebara and Talkmobile.
This means customers using other providers who use Vodafone’s infrastructure could also be impacted. These companies include VOXI and Asda Mobile.

Raging customer says ‘whole days worth of work gone’
A fuming cucstomer claimed the phone outage has prevented her from working.
On X, she said: “@EE can’t even call you ffs this is a complete joke, whole days worth of work gone because of you, can’t make or receive calls, best get money off my bill for loss of earnings.
EE responded and said: “We’ve shared this with the team to investigate. Thanks for letting us know.”

Responding to an affected customer on X, EE said: “Thanks for the heads-up. We’re looking into it now.”

BT ‘urgently’ fixing issue
A spokesperson for BT has confirmed there is an issue affecting it’s service, according to techradar.
They said: “We’re currently addressing an issue impacting our services. We’re working urgently to fix this issue and will provide a further update as soon as possible.”

O2 customers not impacted but unable to call affected networks
A small spike of customers on O2 have reported issues on Down Detector this afternoon.
A spokesperson told The Mirror that O2 was operating entirely normal today but some customer might be unable to conatct people using impacted networks like EE and Vodafone.

Problem specific to phone calls
These network issues appear to have impacted just phone calls, rather than internet accsess too.
One Vodafone customer, on X, said: “My phone says I have 5G but every time I go to make a call the signal drops and won’t make a call.”

The network has told some complaining customers, on X, that they should check their network status online amid the outage.

Vodafone says ‘technical issues’ to blame
Although Vodafone has not shared a official statement on the outage, it has told a customer on X that some people’s ability to make and receive phone calls might be impacted this afternoon.
Vodafone said: “Hi there! Thanks for getting in touch. We’re currently experiencing technical issues that may affect call services for some customers.
“We understand how important this is and are working hard to resolve it quickly.”

Vodafone and EE customer report call issues
Some people using Vodafone and EE networks have said they have been unable to make and receive calls this afternoon.
People started to report the outage on Downdetector – which monitors outages – at around 11am but the number of affected customers has continued to rise.
