Video shows the moment that “vials of cocaine” were found hidden inside an Edmonton drug dealer’s car. Arroyave Andres Felipe Ocampo, 28, of Charlton Road, Edmonton, has been jailed for three years for his crimes.
Officers found 33 vials of the class A drug hidden inside the window control panel on the driver’s side of the door of Mr Ocampo’s car, after he was pulled over by police on London Wall, who had discovered he was driving without insurance on November 11 last year at around 4.50pm.
As police approached Mr Ocampo drove slowly to pull over and appeared to be “deleting messages” on his mobile phone. The drugs, as well as £330 in cash, were found after police dogs hinted that there was something suspicious inside the car.
It was then revealed that Mr Ocampo had postcodes in his phones which police believe are the location he intended to sell the drugs. Detective Constable James Crellin, in the Criminal Investigations Department at the City of London Police, said: “City of London Police officers are proactively targeting offenders and we will take action to disrupt and pursue those involved in the supply of Class A drugs on the streets of London.
“Putting these criminals behind bars removes another threat to rid the streets of this most impactful and harmful illegal activity, as we continue to actively identify, investigate and prosecute all others attempting to do the same.”
Mr Ocampo pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession of a false ID, driving without valid third-party insurance and driving whilst disqualified.
