Say goodbye to grey, dull, clothes and towels with this ‘amazing’ stain remover avid cleaners swear by. Plus, it’s less harsh than bleach and won’t irritate your little ones’ skin
If you’re tired of your supposedly white clothes and towels looking like a rainstorm cloud – there’s an incredible product cleaners can’t praise enough.
Whilst many Brits will resort to using bleach to brighten and whiten their dull-looking clothes, the intimidating product can sometimes be a little too powerful and can actually ruin your precious clothes. If you ever spot a towel or garment that has a triangle with a cross on the washing label – that means you shouldn’t be applying bleach at all.
Luckily, mums across the nation have found a powerful stain remover that’s also kind to babies’ skin.
Posting on the Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook page, which has more than 1.7 million members, one woman was desperate to get her whites gleaming again. “Can anyone suggest the best whitening stuff for washing whites that have gone a bit grey and the best thing to get stains out that have been washed and still haven’t come out?” she asked.
Swathes of avid cleaners flocked to the comments section to share their tried and tested methods – and the clear winner was Napisan. “Steep in Napisan – it works fabulously well,” one person raved. Another agreed, commenting: “Napisan is a God send for whites.” A third applauded the product saying she ‘swears by’ it – while a fourth added: “Napisan is great, soak for a couple of days if stained, then wash.”

You can pick up Napisan in the baby aisle of most mainstream supermarkets. Asda is currently selling an 800g box for £4.50 – whilst Amazon is selling a pack of six for £31.50.
It currently has a five-star rating on many retailer’s websites – with some saying it is the only product that can lift the toughest of stains. “Brilliant for getting grey out of towels and making them white again,” one happy shopper wrote. “[It’s] very good. I can’t imagine a wash with it,” added another. A third hailed the item, describing it as an ‘amazing stain remover’ that is also ‘gentle on babies’ skin’.
