Wireless Festival is set to make a sensational comeback this weekend, with none other than Drake topping the bill after much anticipation. Just earlier this week, the Canadian star’s private jet, aptly named ‘Air Drake’, was spotted at Exeter Airport.

A bystander managed to capture a shot of the striking sky-blue plane and shared it with DevonLive, remarking: “Drake’s private jet is parked up at Exeter Airport.” With weekend tickets fetching as much as £388, and the superstar jetting in with such panache, it’s worlds apart from his more modest beginnings in London.

Fans have been reflecting on the artist’s meteoric rise and how he’s kept his feet on the ground throughout his ascent. He was once seen performing in London for just £4 a ticket.

A recent post on social media and TikTok went viral, showing him making a surprise appearance at that very concert. One user reminisced on social media: “Never forget when Drake showed up at a $5 [£4] show in London. I’m convinced Drake would rather be a UK citizen.”

“He gets so much more love from the UK than he does from America,” another fan commented.

“Drake gets super love in the UK,” observed a third, while another declared: “One of my favourite videos ever,” upon watching the footage.

Someone else highlighted: “It’s these little things that Drake does that make people love him… that’s what they don’t understand.”

Yet another admirer noted: “People don’t get that Drake’s culture when he shows up to events like this in the UK. It’s these moments that have made him one of the carriers of the culture.”

Fans are eagerly anticipating a stellar performance from the much-loved star this weekend.

The 38-year-old has a history of surprising fans at Wireless, having made guest appearances in 2021 and 2018, where he joined Future on stage.

So, who else is set to grace the stage at Wireless Festival 2025?

An additional 20 acts have been announced for the official line-up. Each evening promises to showcase the best of Black music, with a diverse mix of global rap, R&B, Afrobeats, dancehall, grime, and trap.

Newly announced performers include Leon Thomas, KWN, Odeal, Roy Woods, Sailorr, TBA, Nippa, and Kamilla Rose on Friday. Saturday’s line-up features BigXThaPlug, Lancey Foux, Nemzzz, Fimiguerrero, Sahbabii, Len, Chy Cartier, YT and Kenny Allstar.

Sunday’s attendees can look forward to performances from Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Spice, Masicka, Uncle Waffles, Darkoo, Odumodublvck, Skeete and Izzy Bossy. Drake will be headlining all three days.

Wondering if there are any Wireless tickets left?
