Jo Beaumond was traveling to Manchester to see The Offspring when she saw mysterious lights in the sky above the M56 motorway

A woman was left confused and concerned after spotting mysterious lights in the sky over the M56. Jo Beaumond, 33, from Welshpool, was in a car with her three friends on Sunday, November 16 as they travelled to AO Arena in Manchester to watch The Offspring for their Supercharged Worldwide tour.

Between 5.30pm and 6pm the friends noticed some lights and patterns in the sky over the motorway. A video taken from the car shows around six or seven white circles moving over the clouds in random directions. Jo added that she was left with questions when the lights remained in the sky for around 20 miles.

She said: “We were on the way to Manchester to see Offspring and noticed them probably by Chester. It was weird, As you can see in the video they’re scatty pattern and they seemed to stay next to the car for miles and miles.

“Then about 20 miles down the road they stopped and reappeared from the opposite side of the car but in a different sequence. So not scatty circles as before, but like up then over somehow?

“We didn’t know what they were. [We] assumed some kind of Christmas light beam thing, but was so strange as they stayed next to the car so long we couldn’t understand how it was physically possible to do so if it was a fixed light.”

Jo posted a video of the lights onto TikTok and hundreds of people commented to debate where the lights could have come from, with many people suggesting they came from a light event at Chester Zoo called Lanterns & Light, another light event in Blakemere village in Cheshire, or the festival of light at Heaton Park.

Others shared that they were keeping their minds open to the thought of the lights being something more mysterious due to how long they were visible for.

One person said: “I’ve seen these lights near Warrington for weeks. Freaked me out at first then I quickly got over it.”

A second added: “The chances of anything coming from Mars, are a million to one, they said….. but still they come!”

Another commenter said: “I thought we were at war.” Jo replied: “Oh god, I hope it’s Chester Zoo, or Warrington or aliens haha.”

Another person said: “Seen [these] in Ellesmere Port its just something for Xmas, defo not UFOs.”

Another added: “Moving head beams for either a concert or Xmas market kinda thing. Very powerful but nothing to worry about they not strong enough to beam you up or scotty.”
