A woman has been crying her eyes out after discovering her husband of 11 years has been living a secret double life behind her back – and has an entire second family out there in the world
A woman has been left heartbroken after discovering her husband has been living a secret double life and has an entire second family. The 32-year-old has been with her husband for more than 11 years and has eight-year-old twin girls with him.
She was under the illusion they had a “happy marriage” – but has been struggling to see through the tears ever since her husband’s ‘other woman’ showed up at her door with the devastating news. Taking to Reddit, she said: “I just found out that my husband, 36, has a full-blown secret family.
“Jonas works in a branch of business were he spent three months outside and three months at home. During this time he will visit us and we will visit him. It is inconvenient but he earns really good money -so good that I needn’t work if I didn’t want to.
“During all those years I have never suspected him of cheating. He was always ‘super honest’ with me and would even tell me about attraction to other people he felt.” But one weekend when Jonas was away on a work trip, a stranger knocked on her door and introduced herself as Cherry.
She added: “When I asked her what it was about she broke down crying. I took her in and after calming her she started to tell me this story about Jonas. Apparently she and Jonas have been together for over six years and have a little boy, 3, together.
“We were both fooled because he keeps his life there completely separate from our life here. He has two different sets of social media accounts. And as his parents sadly passed away in a car accident 15 years ago, he didn’t have to introduce either to them.
“At first I was livid and screamed at her until I calmed down as she was just a victim.” She came to learn Cherry found out about Jonas’ secret after discovering he spent some time in an ‘unknown’ apartment when reviewing their bank statements.
She said: “Apparently Cherry found out my (our) husband has an apartment that was paid for by the company (where he would take me if I visit) through some bank statements. She searched for his keys and went snooping. There is where she found out about us and decided she wanted to tell me the truth after thinking for over three months about it.
“We both cried our eyes out together. Cursed out Jonas and now she is sleeping on my couch.” Seeking advice, she added: “She is not legally married to Jonas as he sold her the ‘I don’t believe in marriage Spiel’. The only legal spouse he has is me. I know I have to divorce him but maybe I just need some extra advice and a little husband roasting. Also, should I keep in touch with Cherry and should we introduce our kids?”
While most users urged her to speak to a lawyer before doing anything, others shared their sympathies with both women caught up in this mess. One user said: “Talk to a lawyer first, please. Don’t do or say anything that might jeopardise your rights and claims during a divorce, if you choose that path.”
Another user added: “If getting legal help is going to take time, then both you and Cherry should stay cool calm, and quiet, so that you can set the pace with your legal team. Hopefully, he doesn’t get a bunch of angry texts from Cherry tomorrow and start making moves, getting his own legal team ready, and securing financial assets.
A third user said: “This is an awful situation and your husband is a terrible person. This said the best advice I was given when I caught my ex-wife cheating was by my lawyer. His words were very clear: you could go after her and try and get revenge, but one day your kids will find out.
“How would that make you feel? I’m sure some people here would be fine with it, but in my mind, my kids only get one mum and one dad, and despite the fact that she was a terrible wife she is actually a pretty good mum.”
