A woman got the literal fright of her life when she moved into her new home and opened the door to find the shocking item the previous owners had left in the kitchen
When you move into a new house, you normally expect the previous owners to have moved all of their belongings out before you arrive. Sometimes, they may have agreed to leave some appliances behind they don’t need but you can use, and other times, might have arranged to pick up their final bits at a later date, but these circumstances are rare.
One woman, however, got the fright of her life when she picked up the keys to move into her new home, as she unlocked the front door to find something waiting for her inside the property. Louren Wilson posted a video on TikTok of herself opening her door for the first time, and happened to catch the jaw-dropping moment she saw what was inside.
In the video, Louren steps into the entryway of her new house and stops in her tracks as the camera shows a long hallway with a baby gate at one end.
Behind the gate, however, was the thing that made Louren stop still – a dog.
The small white pooch was wagging its tail excitedly, but Louren was baffled by what she was looking at. She was concerned the owners had abandoned the poor dog when they moved out, and had no idea what to do.
WARNING: The below video contains strong language.
She captioned her video: “When there’s a full a** dog in your new house.”
There were also some water bottles and an unopened pack of toilet rolls on the floor of the hallway, which also seemed like strange items for the previous homeowner to have left behind.
Commenters were horrified the former homeowners had seemingly abandoned their dog, with many arguing that Louren should take care of it herself.
One person said: “I suddenly felt so sad for the dog, thinking it’d been abandoned.”
Another added: “Report the previous owner of the house… that’s insane. Poor dog, his pack abandoned him.”
However, Louren later clarified in the comments that the owners had thankfully not abandoned their dog. They had been unable to take all their belongings in one trip, and came back a few hours later for their dog and the rest of their stuff.
She wrote: “We were told we were good to move into the house, we got the deed, and we headed over (it was about 6pm when we arrived), and this is our first opening the door.
“The previous owners thought they could get everything in one trip, but they couldn’t (we had no idea), so we showed up, and their dog was still there.
“So we called the realtor, he called them, and we went to dinner. By 8:30, we got another text saying everything was gone and they had gotten their dog.”
