A woman has been left terrified after spotting a confusing Google Calendar entry scheduled for next year on her mobile phone, prompting her husband has taken to Reddit to ask for help

A woman has been left shaken after finding a chilling calendar entry on her phone scheduled for next year. Her husband turned to Reddit to post a screenshot of the event, which appeared to have been timed to occur at 6pm on May 14, 2026.

“My wife found her death on her calendar,” he disclosed in a post, before appealing for help from others: “She has no idea how it got added and is creeped out. Any way to track down the source?” The post sparked hundreds of Reddit users to offer theories as to how the disturbing error might have appeared.

The husband also clarified: “I’m not worried about some spiritual thing.. more like a psycho ex put that in there and is planning something.. but now that I’m saying that.. it just sounds crazy too.”

Responding, one Reddit user suggested: “Is it possible she got drunk/high and had some weird convo or thought and added it and just doesn’t remember context? I’ve done that with actual plans before.”

To which the husband admitted: “I guess anything is possible… she says no but who knows. She’s also wondering if she should delete the event… I don’t want her to because I want to find out when it was added.”

A second person questioned: “Do you guys use a voice command assistant like Alexa/Siri/Google to add stuff to calendars? Maybe she was trying to add an appointment for something else and it misheard her.”

Whilst a third suggested the diary entry might have come from a prank website called Death Date, which allows users to input their own – or someone else’s – details to “predict” when they’ll die.

“This is my guess,” the husband responded. “In the calendar app it was tied to an old email she doesn’t use anymore, but had it for a long time.

“Thinking she’d went to something like that, it got added and she just doesn’t remember.”

Elsewhere a fourth Reddit user explained: “If you’re synced up to Google Calendar then literally anybody can just add anything they want to yours. Mine has been useless for the past several years because it’s filled with spam invites on every date.”

And a fifth person backed this explanation as the most plausible theory. “That is the correct answer,” they confirmed.

“OP [original poster], you or your wife need to analyse this event created. Who created it, how it got there and so on. It is google calendar, so there should be some traces. After all, it could be many things.”

Having considered all the theories, the woman’s husband came back to the post admitting: “I’m like 20% freaked out and 80% think it’s weird and nothing.

“So mostly okay, but that 20% has a way of whispering in my ear… what if.”
