Zoe C, from Mansfield, has slammed Too Good To Go and Morrisons after paying £3.09 for a mystery bag, only to find ’90 per cent was completely unusable’ and had to be ‘thrown away’

A woman has vowed never to use Too Good To Go ever again following a disastrous mystery bag.

Founded back in 2015, Too Good To Go has become increasingly popular in recent years – offering savvy shoppers to grab heavily discounted food that would otherwise end up going to waste. Users are not told what items they will receive, as it depends on the store’s stock and what items are nearing their expiration date.

Some Brits have hit the jackpot, like Blair Coles who received a whopping 36 blocks of cheese from Aldi for just £3.30. But when Zoe C, from Mansfield, paid £3.09 for a mystery bag from Morrisons – she certainly wasn’t jumping up and down.

The 41-year-old claims some of the food she received was five days past its best-before date, and that some of the produce was covered in ‘mould spores’. “90 per cent of this bag was completely unusable and was thrown away,” she said.

“The only thing I could salvage was the dill and mint in the packets which my rabbits had. To be honest, it’s put me off both getting a Too Good To Go bag from Morrisons, as well as going in store.”

Zoe posted a snap of her measly offerings online, attracting a slew of comments from shocked users. “That is terrible,” fumed one person. Another agreed, commenting: “That really is rubbish.” While a third added: “Gosh what nasty people in this world to think it’s okay to give away mouldy food.”

The woman, who claims she is awaiting a response from Too Good To Go, added: “The lettuce was thrown in and broken up in the bottom of the bag, soggy and had a random piece of chocolate stuck on it. The bread was dated 2nd April and was rock hard and squashed. The hot cross buns had the 1st April on them and had mould spores starting to show. One of the lemons was squashy and mouldy.”

The Mirror has contacted Morrisons and Too Good To Go for comment.
