Airport security had an embarrassing moment after they pulled a passenger aside and asked if she had an illegal item in her luggage – before mistaking the same item for something even more awkward
A woman’s airport experience left her red in the face after her power bank was mistaken for something completely different.
Being stopped at security for a check on their hand luggage brought up a few awkward questions from security, after they mistook the power bank she had brought for her phone for a knife – and then a sex toy.
The original poster took to Twitter/X with a photo of the offending item and says the experience will “haunt” them for some time. They revealed their backpacking experience with a now viral post to the app, which showed off a power bank released alongside the video game Diablo III.
They claimed: “I got stopped at security at the airport and they asked me if I had a knife, which of course I didn’t. Then they awkwardly asked if I had a ‘self pleasuring device’ in my backpack and I was HORRIFIED… Turns out it was my Blizzcon exclusive Diablo III Soulstone Power Bank.”
Other Twitter/X users saw the lighter side of the experience and began asking just how terrible an experience it was. One user wrote: “That is pretty funny. Sounds mortifying.” The original poster replied: “10/10 Will haunt me for a while.”
Another user joked: “The person who asked that was almost hoping you’d say a knife so they didn’t have to ask the follow-up question.” A third revealed they had a similar experience when waiting for a security check, revealing: “Yo, the exact thing happened to me at the airport with this same power bank. They pulled me aside and said ‘what is this, it looks awkward’.”
