There’s nothing like being in love, and sometimes, people who have found their person do the most adorable things. That’s why one woman was left “crying at the thrift store” when she opened a book and found the most adorable dedication she’d ever read at the start of the book. But the mystery of who the women were left some confused.

Shopper Stella posted on X that she was “crying” over the book titled ‘Love Poems by Women’. The book was given as a gift at Christmas time in 1997, but it was the beautiful message that left people feeling teary when they read it.

The inscription in the book read: “To Stephanie, I believe that we are the greatest love poem ever written. I love you always, Kate”.

However, some people were concerned about the couple and whether they were still together if the book had ended up given away.

One man wrote: “Don’t think it worked out in the end if the book is at the thrift store…”

Someone poetically responded: “Everything ends, but it can be beautiful while it lasts”.

Another added: “There could be so many reasons why this happened like that. Maybe she just lost the book. (Once I lost a book that I got from a classmate, I still miss it)”.

Others pointed out that they may not still be alive. One said: “25 years is certainly long enough for them to have passed”. “They’re probably dead,” somebody else suggested.

However, one woman had a great take on the situation, sharing: “However this got where it was found, it’s beautiful seeing such a sweet display of queer love, and may you all find love like Kate & Stephanies”.

A woman who used to work in a charity shop also had a funny story, sharing: “I work at a charity shop and we once got a book with a beautiful inscription from one friend to another. Under it, the recipient had written ‘I’m never going to read this’.”

Others shared their own love stories, writing: “So sweet! My husband wrote something similar for me shortly after we met. It’s one of my treasured possessions.

“He has showered me with expensive gifts for over 20 years, which I greatly appreciate, but that sweet note is priceless”.

Another romantic shared: “I really hope they stayed together. I don’t know why it’s in the bookstore, I hope it’s there by accident.

“And I hope the Universe sees fit to bestow this to another Kate who is also in love with a Stephanie. Because how romantic would that be?”
