A woman has taken revenge after a tenant moving into the flat she’d rented refused to pay for what she’d bought, so she removed everything – including the fence
A woman has been praised for getting ‘petty’ revenge on the tenant moving into her old house. She explained how she rented from a housing society in the Netherlands before deciding to relocate – but during her time in the property, she completely transformed it on her own dime.
She said on Reddit: “Over here the renter is responsible for flooring, wallpaper or paint and gardening themselves. I had taken great care and pride in both decorating the house and growing a beautiful garden.”
When it was time to move on, she told how she had contacted the next tenant to see what she wanted to keep, so they could arrange a suitable price. She added: “That’s how things are over here. But she was cheap and refused to agree upon a reasonable price for the lot. I got the feeling she gambled I was not able to remove the lot anyway.”

In a self-confessed act of revenge, the woman told how she gathered a group of friends to help her with her plan, and within two days, they stripped the apartment bare: “Everything was gone,” she admitted. “Bare concrete floors. Bare concrete walls. Bare old dirty wooden stairs. The minimal kitchen. And the garden was just an empty, flat, black soil wasteland.”
She had even removed the wooden shed, and the fence: “All the nice tiles, plants and flowers, bushes and a pear tree, gone.” She also admitted to feeling a sense of joy when she closed the door on the house behind her, commenting: “I later heard from a friend who lived a couple of houses down the road from that house that the new lady was upset with how she found the place, but there was nothing she could do about it. Well, perhaps the lady learned a thing.”
After admitting her vengeful act on Reddit, readers were quick to applaud her actions, with one saying: “My neighbour had added a concrete patio to the back yard, but the new tenant refused to give him the token fee he asked for it, so he jackhammered it to rubble and carted it away.”
Another said: “Boss move. I approve,” with one reader commenting: “This really made me smile. So would have loved to see that woman’s face when she moved into a barren cement box looking out onto flat black dirt. Hilarious!”
One reader agreed with her decision to remove it all: “Haha, good for you. I would have rather seen it all thrown in a dumpster than given to some entitled mooch who thought they would lowball me into giving up my hard earned stuff.”
