Police are investigating after a young woman was allegedly raped in Canary Wharf in the early hours of this morning. The woman, who is in her 20s, told officers that she was raped in Hertsmere Road.
Police and ambulance were called to the scene at 4.25am this morning, and the woman was taken to hospital. She is currently being supported by trained officers.
A Met Police spokesman said: “We are investigating an alleged rape which took place on Hertsmere Road, Canary Wharf.
“Officers were called at 04:25hrs on Saturday, 23 August and attended alongside the London Ambulance Service. A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital and is being supported by specially trained officers.
“At this time no arrests have been made, but officers continue to make urgent enquiries.
“Anyone with any information, or who was around the area at the time is urged to contact police by calling 101 or online, quoting CAD1371/23. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111”.
