Police are hunting for a man who sexually assaulted a woman on an escalator at a London Underground station after following her off a Tube train. The horrific attack happened at Warren Street station and British Transport Police (BTP) have released an image in connection with the investigation.
At around 9.45pm on Sunday, February 18, the woman was on a Northern Line train when a man boarded the train at Archway and sat a few seats away. She left the train at Warren Street and, as she got up to leave, noticed the man leaving ahead of her.
He then stopped to get behind the victim, followed her off the platform, and sexually assaulted her on the escalator. Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation. In the CCTV image at the bottom of a Tube escalator he is wearing a grey tracksuit and a jacket, with a white trim, as well as a baseball cap.
