A woman has taken to social media to shame an ‘entitled’ passenger who encroached into her seat space on a plane, putting his comfort ahead of hers for four hours
A woman has staged a silent protest against an ‘entitled’ plane passenger who couldn’t keep his legs to himself on their flight. When sharing a photo on social media, she explained how she is 5’8 and was forced into an uncomfortable seating position on her flight as the man next to her ‘made himself at home’.
The picture shows her sitting with both knees together within her allotted space – and the man’s knee also in her allotted space. As he sat watching a video on his phone placed between his spread legs, she posted on Reddit: “This was how my entire four-hour flight went today. I am a 5’8 female.” While most users slammed the man for encroaching onto her space, others claim she should have been more assertive when in the air.
One user said: “Sadly you have to be aggressive about claiming your personal space on a flight.” Another user added: “I am 7ft tall, I always try to get the aisle so I can put my legs to the aisle instead of my neighbour. Maybe they could have switched seats?”

A third user said: “I’m a 6’8 male but skinny. Flights are tough for me no matter what but as soon as I get in my seat I recline immediately but even at my height I don’t intrude and let my knees hang over to the other side of a seat. I’ll adjust my position frequently because I get uncomfortable but I stay in my lane.”
One more user added: “That gives me an anxiety fit just seeing that.” However, others blame the airline for reducing seat space to be able to ‘cram’ more passengers onto each flight. One user said: “It’s horrible what the airlines have done to the seats. No room, no recline, and no comfort. Another user added: “All the time. The seats are seriously ridiculously narrow so the airline can turn a larger profit. I think they should be put on notice that it’s not OK.”
