Ever had a problem trying to use your car key? Sometimes the issue can be simple and you’ve just run out of power, now one TikTok user revealed a trick to solve it
Have you ever wondered why your car key isn’t working?
You might think it’s faulty or just starting to glitch, and might call your local garage to have it solved. But thankfully it’s a lot simpler than you think when the problem occurs.
It turns out your key fob might actually stop working as the battery has run out. So the next time it happens, it’s best to lean to your utility drawer to solve the issue.
Now on TikTok, user @master_driver666 revealed how to replace the battery all by lifting the section of your key open easily. She shared the video, along with her other hacks in the clip, which scooped 60,000 likes in the space of a few days.
Demonstrating the problem, she said: “The car key cannot open the door, usually it’s because the car key is out of power. Let’s follow the gap of the car key to open it, there is a battery inside, take out the battery, then buy a battery of the same model and install it back. Now the door can open.”
You can easily buy a cheap battery from Amazon or your local handy store should have it too. Also in the clip, the driving guru revealed how to solve the big gaps on your car’s hood.
To resolve this, open the hood to find two black devices which you’ll need to tighten clockwise. After you’ve done that, you’ll see the hood and steam has become smaller.
While this isn’t a major issue, it’s always worth tightening any parts of your car which have become loose over time. Since it was shared, many praised her for the savvy hacks which barely cost a penny.
One said: “Thank you for all your wisdom!” While another viewer added: “These are the most useful tips, thank you!” And a third commented: “Thank you for all the simple things I can save money.”
It comes as another TikTok user revealed a little-known car key button which can save you heaps of time. If you have a car with electric windows, this means remembering to shut them before you turn your engine off. But if you’ve forgotten, a woman discovered a little-known button where you don’t need the car switched on.
