If you are a fussy eater and struggle with meal ideas, you might be looking for a creative solution to solve the problem.

Well, one woman has come up with a solution that could help you make a standard savoury meal a little bit more exciting. But whether it is ‘genius’ or ‘ridiculous’ has been left up to the internet to decide.

The woman, who posts online as @vvardy, announced she was making “savoury cereal” for dinner and it blew people’s minds. In the video, which gained more than 72,000 likes, she explained: “Okay. Tonight’s dinner is savoury cereal.

“I have potato pops, stuffing balls, chicken pops, and a few mini kievs as well. And I’m just going to drown them all in gravy And the thing about this is it’s got an edible bowl.”

Spilling a bit of gravy over the side of the Yorkshire pudding she said: “Yeah, I’ve overshot it but what the hell? You’re welcome”.

TikTok users were left stunned in the comments as many people couldn’t believe they’d never thought of it before.

One user said: “This is genius how has such a connoisseur of beige food such as myself never thought of this. You’ve changed my life.”

Another added: “WHAT A CONCEPT omg,” while a third commented: “I will have savoury cereal thrice please.” A fourth penned: “This is the best invention ever thank you.”

However, some didn’t approve of the plan and argued the meal could be made much healthier. A viewer wrote: “This, half the portion, replace that half with veg.”

Someone else argued: “I can’t eat an all beige meal. It needs colour such as peas and carrots or sprouts if you want to keep the round theme.” A final user mocked: “Savoury cereal… so, soup?”

Many parents have dealt with fussy eaters at some stage. While it’s natural to worry whether your child is getting enough food, giving them too many options is the biggest mistake you can make says mum and dietician Sarah Derry.

Posting on her Instagram page Nourishing Picky Eaters, Sarah said parents give their kids “too much control” over meals.
