An influencer tried a viral TikTok beauty trend to get faux freckles but was left with angry, red scaring and temporary blindess by the blunder. Now she’s admitted she’s committed another beauty faux pas

Some people seem to have no luck – and one woman doesn’t seem particularly lucky when it comes to beauty treatments.

Tilly Whitfield, who starred in Australia’s version of Big Brother, first hit the headlines when she tried to give herself faux freckles using an unregulated beauty treatment back last year. Now she’s admitted to suffering yet another beauty blunder.

The social media star made the confession on TikTok when she encouraged others not to follow the troublesome trend. She posted a clip alongside the caption: “Don’t follow trends kids.”

Tilly is then seen posing for the camera in a short clip, and she wrote an explainer over the top. It said: “You want the thin 90s brows but you got yours tattooed on when dark thick brows were a trend.”

Since she made the candid confession, lots of people have commented on the post. Even though she opened up about the beauty fail, it seems many people think she looks great nonetheless.

One person wrote: “Be careful of the 90s thin brows. Over doing it for too long – it’s hard for them to grow back.” Another got a little cheeky in the replies, writing: “Are your boyfriend applications open?”

It’s not the first time Tilly has had issues with tattoos – she went through a tough time when she tried to create faux freckles last year. The viral trend included using a sewing needle to prick the skin with ink – claiming that it would last for six months.

Tilly decided to order some brown tattoo ink from eBayand try the trick, but soon regretted it. She was left with angry, red burns across her cheeks, and was also left temporarily blind.

Luckily, she managed to heal over time, but she later issued a warning to her thousands of followers. She told them all about what happened in a candid video.

At the time, Tilly said: “Okay just quickly wanted to stitch this because um I wanna tell people how I fixed it because I’m getting a lot of messages. Obviously people are doing the same thing and tattooing freckles and I’ve obviously gotten rid of mine.”

She continued: “Um I tried many different methods but in the end what helped was laser um I used a Q switch laser, that was the best. I have absolutely no scarring besides like a tiny bit of my nose but that’s just really thin skin on the bridge of your nose.

“I also use lightening cream which was an anal bleach and that helped lighten the scar before the laser. After the laser, I just looked after my skin with lots of jojoba oil, that is why my skin is very shiny but like there is absolutely no hope if you’ve done it just wait a bit.”

She finished the video by adding that she hopes the information will help someone who has made the same mistakes as she receives endless messages about it. Previously the TV star revealed she’d spent around £8,500 trying to find a solution to her painful scars.

After posting images of her scars on social media, she said: “The main response has been that I’m stupid, and, yeah, I agree.”
