A skincare loving woman has shared the simple and easy adjustment she made to washing her face that has helped clear her acne – and it didn’t cost her a penny to do either

Whether you have a five-step routine or you just simply wash your face with water, everyone looks after their skin differently – but one woman has managed to clear her acne by making one tiny tweak and it’s free.

Skincare has become one of the most looked-up topics online, and with hundreds of different products claiming to do different things, it can become hard to know what works best. While everyone differs in what they use, one woman has shared her simple change to how she washes her face – and it doesn’t cost a penny either.

She claimed that her trick has not only made her life easier, but the simple adjustment has “changed my entire complexion”. She took to Reddit to share her top tip. She explained: “I lightly dampen my face, then I put the cleanser in the palm of my hands and rub my hands together so it makes the cleanser like a thin white layer on my hands.”

She then massages the product on her face for two minutes, until the cleanser “becomes tacky” and added: “Then I rinse my hands of excess cleanser and use the water left on my hands to give my face another 10-30 second massage.”

She hailed this top tip for preventing her skin from “getting oily throughout the day” and has “completely cleared my acne”. Noting that she now only gets “small pimples” but blamed that on hormones. The skincare lover shared some other top tips about how she’s managed to transform her skin, as she also claimed that changing her diet has done her the world of good.

“I also started eating healthier and generally less processed foods [and] started actually committing to my routine instead of neglecting it. While my skin really started getting less congested and I gained an overall smoother complexion afterwards, these other steps I took mattered just as much,” she further detailed.

Although she makes the caveat that she wouldn’t want anyone to think that following her routine will automatically “clear up” their skin issues, but noticed it worked for herself.

People shared their own thoughts, as one person called it the “60-second face washing rule” and advised people should cleanse their face with their fingers for “at least a minute”.
