As medics tried to resuscitate Tina Hines she says she was looking into the face of Jesus
When Tina Hines suffered a major heart attack it left her technically dead for almost half an hour. As medics battled to resuscitate her she had no sign of life leaving her devastated husband convinced he’s lost her.
But Tina says that time while “dead” but before she was finally revived gave her an experience she will never forget. And the first thing she did when being brought round was to write her husband a spine-tingling note.
In writing that was barely legible she penned: “it’s real”. And when questioned she explained not only had she seen heaven but she had looked into the face of Jesus.
Speaking afterwards Tina, from Arizona, said: “I just wanted to share that I saw Jesus face to face. The unbelievable rest and peacefulness of what I was experienced was Jesus, standing there with his arms open wide.”
Speaking to CBN Tina’s husband Brian told of the events of February 12, 2018 when his wife collapsed. He said: “I’ve never seen anybody with their eyes rolled back and and literally starting to turn purple.”
Their neighbour tried to find a pulse and do CPR but then Brian took over. He said: “I just start pushing on Tina, pushing on her chest in the middle of her chest.”
He fought on trying to revive his wife but by the time the first responders arrived he thought she was dead. Paramedics administered two rounds of epinephrine and shocked Tina’s heart. They tried a third time and Brian says he was pleading with them to save her.
Tina, still without a heartbeat, was taken to Deer Valley Medical Center by ambulance as the paramedics continued trying to resuscitate her. Once there she was found to have a gash on her forehead from the fall, a cracked sternum and several cracked ribs from the CPR.
With no sign of life for over 20 minutes Tina was rushed into the Emergency Room with Brian “knowing” in his mind she was dead. He then issued an urgent prayer.
He said: “It was a prayer desperation. I said God, take everything from my life if you’ll give me back Tina.”
Tina’s sister Tammy and her husband Dave were rushing to be at her bedside when Tammy said she had sudden peace. Like something fell on her, a peace that Tina was gonna be ok.”
As Tammy told her that they got a text to say Tina was alive. But she was far from being out of the woods. Doctors said there were probably 27 or 28 minutes with limited or no oxygen.
Explaining most people do not survive after five or 10 minutes without oxygen the medics said they would put Tina into an induced coma to allow her body to relax while they carried out tests to discover what had happened.
They warned in Tina pulled through she would most likely have brain injuries that could leave her with a major disability. By the following day when Tina’s vital signs were back to normal doctors needed to determine if she could breathe on her own.
Brian said they decided to take her off the ventilator to see if she could breath on her own and incredibly she could. Brian said: “Once she was fully conscious Dave placed a pen in her hand and held a notebook for her.”
Dave said: “She just started making marks and I couldn’t tell what it was. I was almost shaking, I was fixed. I just held the book steady because I didn’t want it to drop.”
Brian said they worked out that she had written in difficult to decipher letters “i t s r e a l”. He quizzed her on what was real asking was it the pain, the hospital? He said: “She was slowly nodding her head, eyes are closed, she’s fully vintage, she’s moving all this and then my daughter goes heaven?
“She nods yes. But as soon as someone said Jesus a peace came across her.” He said it was then he knew she was going to be “just fine”.
The doctors said Tina might not be able to speak for some time however she had a lot to say almost immediately. She said: “I just wanted to share that I saw Jesus face to face.
“The unbelievable rest and peacefulness of what I experienced was Jesus standing there with his arms open wide and right behind Jesus standing there was this incredible glow. It was the most vibrant and beautiful yellow.”
Tina was discharged from the hospital on February 16, four days after her cardiac arrest, and without any brain impairments. She added: “God is real in my life, Jesus is real, heaven is real.
“I know that god can use every situation to make us who we are in Christ.” Tina went on to write a book about her experience to share her discovery with others.
