A woman has shared her controversial method for creating a packed lunch sandwich that won’t go soggy – her ring binder method has been hailed as ‘genius’ and ‘sheer brilliance’

A woman has left people stunned after revealing she packs her boyfriend’s lunch in a ring binder.

On a particularly tough work morning, many of us look forward to tucking into the lunch we have brought for that day. But if you prepare a sandwich the night or the morning before work, by the time lunchtime comes around and you are ready to unwrap the sandwich, it might feel soggy.

A woman believes she has resolved this issue by ditching tupperware and utilising office supplies. The cookery lover has a unique method of packing each sandwich filling into individual plastic wallets. She prepares her boyfriend’s lunch every day, and after deciding what to pack up for him, she then places the food-filled files into a ring binder. This way, her partner can make up his sandwich during lunchtime at work.

But her unusual technique has divided opinion. While some hail it as “genius” and “sheer brilliance”, others didn’t see the point.

The inventive woman shared her advice on TikTok, via her page @itsmeju1iette where she shares unique recipes. Speaking about the lunch hack, she added: “Let’s normalise packing lunch in binders!” The video has raked in over two million viewers.

The woman, who previously created controversy after cooking a steak in a toaster, demonstrated how she put cheese in one section, ham in another, and added two slices of bread to a plastic wallet for the packed lunch. Tomatoes and lettuce were also given their own folders, as well as some fruit, peanuts, a handful of sweets and M&Ms.

“This is low key smart,” commented one. Another described it as “my type of meal prep”. A third coined it as “sheer brilliance”. One other wrote: “Omg my husband just saw this and said he loves it.”

Another applauded the hack and said: “My husband will love this because he hates wen sandwiches get soggy that mayo always soften the bread. He likes them freshly made, so great idea.” “So convenient, I love it,” wrote one other. “Wow, genius,” another commented.

But others were not so convinced. “Cleaning would be a nightmare,” one wrote. “Love how the snacks fall out at the end,” joked another. Offering a suggested improvement, another commented: “Hear me out: mini binder, ziplocks hole punched on the edge where it seals.”
