Wood Green crash sees drink driving suspect, 66, arrested as woman, 67, rushed to hospital

A woman was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in North London. The 67-year-old woman was out walking in Wolves Lane in Wood Green when she was injured in a collision with a car at around 3.20pm this afternoon (Monday, September 22).

A 66-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and is currently in police custody for questioning. The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics and later transported to hospital, and full details of her condition are yet to be revealed.

The Met Police is urging anyone with information to come forward. MyLondon has contacted London Ambulance Service for more information.

The force stated: “A 66-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Wolves Lane, N22 at around 15:20hrs on Monday, 22 September. He remains in custody.

“The pedestrian, a 67-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. She was then taken to hospital where she remains – the severity of her injuries are yet to be confirmed.

“If anyone has any information relating to the incident, please contact the Met via 101, quoting 4431/22SEP.”
