Wood Green high street stabbing sees man rushed to hospital as woman, 28, arrested

A man in his 40s has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing in broad daylight. Police were called to West Green Road, Wood Green just after 7.05am this morning (August 19) to reports of the knifing.

The man’s injuries are neither life-changing or life-threatening, the Met has confirmed. A 28-year-old woman has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) , and remains in custody.

Officers cordoned off a section of the busy high street between La Rose Lane and Langham Road whilst enquiries were made. This remained in place until around midday.

Transport for London also diverted bus routes 67 and 341 away from the scene.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 7.07am on Tuesday, 19 August to reports of a man who had been stabbed on West Green Road, Haringey.

“A man in his 40s was taken to hospital where he was assessed not to have life-changing or life-altering injuries. A 28 year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody.”
