A video of the “world’s most expensive underwater hotel room” has gone viral, with thousands of people watching in awe – but not everyone would be happy to stay there
Ever fancied having a sleep under the sea? Well, now you might just get your chance.
The world’s priciest underwater hotel room has been unveiled, and it’s only accessible via a private lift. The Conrad resort in the Maldives was showcased on Facebook by content creators Kara and Nate, sparking quite the conversation.
In the video, they said: “I promise, this is going to be worth the wait. You are immediately greeted by fish as soon as you walk out of the elevator. Then you come down this hallway, which leads you to the bedroom. Even the ceiling is made of glass.”
This, of course, allows you to take in the full spectacle of the surrounding ocean life. You’re essentially encased in the ocean, with all manner of marine life swimming around you.
They then guide viewers into the “incredible bedroom”, demonstrating just how close you are to the fish circling the reef. There’s even a cosy private sitting area for you to sit back and soak up the view.
If you’ve ever pondered what it’s like to pilot a submarine, this experience probably comes pretty close. And it’s certainly something when the loo is dubbed the “best room in the house”.
The pair added: “The toilet raises up to greet you. And this is your view while you’re sitting on the toilet. This is your view while you wash your hands. The mirrors even move, so you can watch the fish while you brush your teeth.”
Then there’s the shower in the middle of a waterfall, surrounded by spectacular views of nature. It’s quite something when you really think about it. The video garnered the attention of thousands since it was shared, sparking a lot of conversation.
While some viewers are excited by the prospect of an underwater stay, others expressed their reservations. One user said: “It would be a fun visit, but I ain’t staying there more than maybe an hour.” Another posted: “I prefer to sleep in a place that makes me feel safe, free of worries.”
Meanwhile, a third person replied: “It is beautiful but I need to be above water when I sleep!” A fourth commented: “Would I sleep there? Absolutely not! I would be awake the whole time staring out the glass watching the world of fascinating sea life passing by!”
