Apple fans are scrambling to snap up an iPad deal from Wowcher, as it offers more than £160 off an older model. The rare deal sees the Apple iPad 9th Generation cut to £199.

This represents a saving of £160.99 compared to the price at IncTablet, but there are a few things to bear in mind. Primarily, the deal is for a refurbished iPad listed as being in ‘good’ condition, meaning the device may show “minor cosmetic wear’ but is ‘fully tested and functional’.

Wowcher further clarifies that the device has been refurbished with ‘Apple-compatible parts’, and the box and accessories it comes with might be generic. The deal applies to the Space Grey edition, but stock is dwindling fast.

Wowcher has listed the deal as having ‘limited availability’ with fewer than 51 units left. The iPad 9th Generation, which was first released in September 2021, is powered by Apple’s A13 Bionic chip.

According to the tech giant, this chip ‘makes everything responsive’, including messaging, web browsing and multitasking with multiple apps. The iPad boasts a 10.2″ IPS LED Display for a ‘crisp’ and ‘vibrant’ viewing experience, whether streaming or surfing the web.

Wowcher is selling Apple iPads (9th Generation) for a much cheaper price. The refurbished price starts from £199, and goes up depending on the condition picked.

It also features an 8MP wide camera, 10-hour battery life, 64GB of storage and iOS 18 – the latest version of Apple’s operating system – straight out of the box. For added security, there’s also a fingerprint scanner.

However, for those willing to spend a little bit more, Amazon is currently offering deals on the latest entry-level iPad. The Apple iPad A16 – which hit the market in March – has dropped from £329 to £299.97 and includes free delivery, while Wowcher charges £8.99 per voucher.

Meanwhile, Sky Mobile offers the same model for a mere £10.50 when spreading the cost, an ideal choice for those not wanting to pay out too much upfront. This latest model boasts an 11″ screen, complete with a Liquid Retina display and a ‘superfast’ A16 chip.

It also comes with 128GB of storage – double that of the iPad 9th Generation – and a 12MP Centre Stage camera. This helps users remain in the centre of the frame during video calls.

While there are no reviews on the Wowcher site to gauge service quality, customers have shared their experiences on Trustpilot when purchasing second-hand tech. One previous refurbished tablet buyer stated: “The range of products are really good.

“I decided to purchase through Wowcher and was really glad I did.” Another person commented: “Ordering was quick and easy.

“When it arrives will let you know. It looks ideal for my tablet/phone and a brilliant price.” When it came to the voucher redemption process, one shopper did encounter a few hiccups, which were resolved through one aspect of its customer service.

They said: “All WhatsApp help was very good, but when reordering a tablet with credit, it gave me nowhere to reorder my gift wrap and I found all ordering info complicated.

“Also it doesn’t tell you properly how to contact them and it was only when I looked up on Google, how to contact Wowcher that I found out the best way was on WhatsApp and the details were there.”
