If you’re planning to impress with your cooking prowess tonight, we’ve got the perfect recipe for you.

There’s nothing quite like having your loved ones over, especially when it involves a feast. If you’re in the mood for a tantalising dish, a TikTok user recently shared something truly scrumptious.

The user, @quickrecipes.us, who has an impressive following of 1.5million, posted a video demonstrating how to whip up a succulent meat dish served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes. The video reveals the “secret” to achieving meat that will “melt in your mouth like butter”.

If we’ve boosted your appetite, here’s how you can recreate it at home. Begin by placing 150g of unsalted butter at room temperature into a large saucepan, followed by a drizzle of 50ml of olive oil and stir until it melts.

The video instructs: “Next cut 1kg of beef into strips then into smaller pieces. Now transfer to the sauce pan and with the butter and cook until golden brown.” Once the meat is fully cooked, as shown in the clip, it’s time to remove the beef from the pan.

He continued: “In the same sauce pan add two onions chopped into thin round slices with three crushed garlic cloves then sauté until lightly golden brown. When that happens, add the fried meat again, season with 1 teaspoon of salt, a pinch of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 and a half tablespoon of mustard, 40ml of soy sauce and stir until incorporated.”

“Finally add 1ml of water, then cover and let everything cook for 30 minutes.”

Now, while the meat is cooking away, you can take the opportunity to whip up some mash. It’s a straightforward process – boil your spuds and then season as you wish before giving them a good mash.

Once you’ve made sure the meat has been cooked all the way through, it’s time for a little kitchen chemistry. Combine a 50g of cornstarch with 100ml of water in a bowl and stir it until it becomes a mix. You can now pour into the meat together with chives and parsley.

Serve it hot and hearty alongside the smooth mashed potatoes – it’s a match made in culinary heaven! Since this recipe was made public, it drew in a whopping 200,000 likes and generated a vibrant discussion among 5,700 commenters.

One foodie commented: “Looks good minus the cheese on the potatoes.” A different follower put forth the idea: “I think it would be good with unsalted butter.”
