Zara Tindall has spoken candidly about the relatable challenges faced by the Royal Family and how they cope with the ups and downs.

While a guest at the London Sporting Club lunch on Wednesday, she insisted that they are like any other family.

As reported by The Sun, Zara shared: “It is very hard to see from the outside, but 100%, it is a family that is still going through the same struggles other people do.

“Whether they are relationships, obviously, it is very easy to see every day. We’re still very supportive of each other.”

She also took a moment to commemorate her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, describing her as a significant influence and “inspiration to all of us.”

Further expressing her admiration for the Queen, who died in September 2022, the 43-year-old remarked: “We had a very incredible person to look up to who is sadly not here any more. She was amazing and an inspiration to all of us.”

Furthermore, the mother-of-three reminisced about her romance with Mike Tindall during the early period of their courtship, reports the Express.

She detailed a particularly memorable interaction from 2003, where she cheekily challenged him to a kiss. Recalling their light-hearted exchange, she shared: “I said, ‘If you get naked, I will give you a kiss’. So he got naked, I gave him a kiss and then… anyway.”

Zara humorously added how the evening progressed, saying: “He was so drunk and he passed out and I had to leave him there.

“One of my mates had to come and pick him up. I can’t move a 20-stone rugby player when he has passed out.”

This isn’t the first time either Zara or Mike has provided an insight into their relationship dynamic. Earlier this year, Mike opened up about his home life with Zara and their three children; Mia, Lena and Lucas.

While guest-editing an edition of the Beano comic to mark its 45th anniversary, he wrote: “My job now is being a dad and I love it.

“It’s important to set a good example, so I play pranks on the kids and their mum. I love hiding and jumping out to scare them.

“It works best on mum – she screams SO loudly! The kids’ favourite prank is to hide under the table and tie people’s shoelaces together!”

Mike and Zara married at a ceremony in Edinburgh back in 2011. Previously discussing what it’s been like marrying into the royal family, the former rugby star told The Telegraph in 2021: “I can only say how kind they’ve been to me, and how welcoming they’ve been to me since joining the family.

“And how they’ve made my family welcome. I’ve always felt part of it and I think that’s down to what an amazing woman the Queen is. They’re a fantastic family.”
