Mikel Arteta have provided a positive injury update ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Manchester United. The Gunners will be determined to get off to a winning start when they face Ruben Amorim’s side at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to reporters at the Sobha Realty Training Centre ahead of the tie, Arteta was quizzed on the difficult start to the campaign. The Spaniard said: “We need to play each other, we need to play at some point and we’ll start at an incredible stadium with so much history and a beautiful way to start the season.
“We will go game by game and make the best preparations, and then perform to earn the right to win the game,” added Arteta. “Now the margins, we know how small they are.
“We know the competition as well has increased the level, with recruitment, with another year together, and we’re going to have to wait and see.”

So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all the latest Arsenal injury news.
Gabriel Jesus
Gabriel Jesus suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the Gunners’ defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup third round at the start of the year. In March, the 28-year-old striker announced that he had successfully completed the first seven weeks of his rehabilitation programme.
He has since regularly provided updates on his recovery via social media, snapping pictures of himself in the gym. Unfortunately for Arteta, Jesus remains out of action, and he’s still expected to return sometime in the Autumn.

Martin Zubimendi
Martin Zubimendi emerged as a doubt for Sunday afternoon’s clash at the start of the week. The 26-year-old midfielder was absent from training photos in the build-up to the United clash until today, casting doubt over his availability.
What Arteta has said: “Yes, he had a great integration. Everybody can witness immediately a very big impact on the team, and we’re really happy and he will be fit.”
Leandro Trossard
Leandro Trossard was nowhere to be seen in Arsenal’s friendly win over Athletic Club last weekend after suffering a groin problem earlier in pre-season. The 30-year-old winger was omitted from the matchday squad, but he appears to have rebuilt his fitness.
What Arteta has said: “Yeah, I think he’s much better. I think he will be able to train again tomorrow and if that’s the case, he will be fit.”
