At Next, the coat comes in sizes six to 26, but it’s selling out fast.
The Jouls coat is made to ‘introduce the look of the country into your outdoor wardrobe’. It’s meant to ‘stand up against the British weather while remaining effortlessly stylish’, and is fully waterproof with taped seams. The coat has a classic fit and country-inspired details like a corduroy collar and dual entry bellow pockets.
There are also hand-warmer pockets, a throat latch detail, checked lining, and a metal chain hanging loop. According to the brand, the coat is a ‘true investment piece’.
Alternatively, you can try the Jaeger Waterproof Twill Hooded Raincoat, which is £175 at Marks and Spencer. The coat comes in three different colours, and is made from waterproof twill fabric. It’s got a hood, pockets, and zip and popper fastening, plus adjustable cuffs and tapes seams.
On the cheaper side, the Navy Rains Jacket is £79 at Whistles. It comes in navy and black, and has a matte finish. The coat has a relaxed fit, adjustable cuffs, a fishtail hem at the back, and an adjustable hood.

It is smart and fits well but it is shorter than my other Joules jackets which I found disappointing. I bought it in navy and a size 14 to allow for sweaters. Had it been at least an inch longer it would have got 5 stars.”
