Jamie Carragher has fired a massive dig at Gary Neville after Chelsea’s dramatic comeback win against Manchester United on Thursday. The Blues somehow managed to drag victory from the game despite being 3-2 down with 90 seconds left to play.

Having labelled Chelsea as the “blue billion pound bottle jobs” during the Carabao Cup final in February, Neville’s words have come back to haunt him here. Taking to X (Twitter) immediately after full-time at SW6, Carragher took the chance to use the phrase again, this time at the expense of his friend.

Carragher simply wrote: “Billion bound bottle jobs [laughing face emoji]”. Neville offered no immediate response to the game.

Neville’s now infamous rant continued to slam a brittle Chelsea side, claiming that they shrunk and would, “regret it for a long, long time.” After an even more remarkable collapse, his words carry huge weight for United’s own side.

The visitors had put Chelsea in a position where they were close to being in a state of enormous crisis after blowing an early 2-0 lead in front of their own fans. Goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes turned the game on its head after Moises Caicedo’s mistake to leave Chelsea exposed.

The Blues then folded in a manner far too familiar for those watching on. Chelsea were granted a late ticket back into the match though when Diogo Dalot fouled Noni Madueke. Palmer’s second of the game looked to have salvaged a point before carnage ensued.

Failing to take advantage of an attack even in the aftermath of the penalty, United left themselves open to a counter in the 100th minute which Chelsea proceeded to pass up. The resulting corner found Palmer open inside the area though and his deflected shot gave Chelsea an improbable three points.
