A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead in a car. Police were called to Whiston Road in Hackney shortly before 6.45am on Saturday (April 6) after a concern for welfare report.
Officers found the woman unresponsive inside a car in an alleyway. They forced their way into the vehicle and carried out CPR until paramedics arrived.
Sadly the woman, aged in her mid 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A Met Police spokesperson said they believe they know who the person was and have informed her next of kin.

Formal identification has not yet taken place. A post-mortem will be held as soon as possible.
A man in his 20s was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. Police believe the woman and the man arrested were known to each other. A crime scene remains in place on Saturday afternoon.
