An electricity failure has resulted in severe rush hour delays between two major London stations. Services travelling between Clapham Junction and London Victoria are currently being cancelled or delayed for up to 30 minutes.

National Rail said the failure is preventing trains from leaving the depot this morning (Monday, November 10), with passengers set to be affected until 8am. Commuter services from Surrey and Sussex appear to be most impacted by this.

The Gatwick Express between London Victoria and Brighton is one of the most affected routes, along with services between the Central London hub and East Grinstead, Horsham, Dorking and Sutton.

National Rail said some services may be amended or run with fewer coaches. Anyone commuting this morning is advised to check before travelling.

Elsewhere in London, the Metropolitan line is suspended between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge due to significant leaf fall. TfL said this closure will be in place throughout the day.

The Central line is experiencing minor delays in West London due to an earlier trespasser on the track.
