A police station has been evacuated after an suspected unexploded ordnance device was handed in. Fareham Police Station in Hampshire saw people removed yesterday (Saturday) following the incident.
A cordon of 100m was put in place at the scene, with the bomb squad called in to deal with the unexploded device, reports the Express.
Hampshire Constabulary said: “At 1.46pm this afternoon (Saturday, November 22) a suspected unexploded ordnance was brought into Fareham Police Station. A 100 metre cordon was put in place and a number of premises were evacuated as a precaution.
“The Royal Navy Ordnance Explosive Disposal team attended and took the device away before the cordon was lifted.”
