One Arsenal player has been backed to have a big impact against Chelsea

Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Sunday and one player in particular has been backed to make a big impact on the game.

The Gunners know a win will put them seven points clear of second placed Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. The Blues, though, are in good form and a win for Enzo Maresca’s side would make them genuine title contenders.

“Obviously it’s a big game, it’s a big London derby,” Mikel Arteta said on Friday. “We’re going to play a really, really good opponent; they are in really good form, and we know the challenge, we know the opportunity that we have as well on Sunday, so we are fully ready for it.”

With Leandro Trossard a doubt for the match after limping off against Bayern Munich in midweek, Noni Madueke could be in line to start, perhaps off the left if the 23-year-old is preferred to Gabriel Martinelli. The Englishman made the move to Emirates Stadium from Chelsea in the summer and will be licking his lips at the prospect at facing his former side.

After a knee injury sustained in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City in September, Madueke made his comeback against Tottenham last weekend and even got on the scoresheet against Bayern on Wednesday. Now, ahead of Sunday’s London derby, Harry Redknapp is backing Madueke to have a big say on the match..

Predicting a 2-0 Arsenal win, Redknapp told football betting site BetVictor: “Chelsea are getting better and better under Maresca, and that win over Barcelona will only boost the squad’s belief. A word too on the young lad Estevao, what a talent he looks like!

“Are Arsenal the best team in Europe right now? They just might be! They were brilliant in that second half against Bayern Munich and I look at the side and just don’t see how they drop points, they barely concede!

“As good as Chelsea have been, how can I not say Arsenal?” Asked for his one to watch, Redknapp added: “Madueke could be an interesting one here. He joined in the summer from Chelsea of course, and he was excellent against Bayern.”
