An 18-year-old man from West London has been arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing in Kent. He was taken into custody yesterday evening (December 2), hours after police launched a murder investigation into the death of a 19-year-old man.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Chatham’s Thorold Road shortly after 3am following reports of an assault. Paramedics treated the teenager for multiple severe injuries but he later died at the scene.

Though yet to be named publicly, the victim’s next of kin have been informed, Kent Police said. The 18-year-old suspect remains in custody, the force added.

Officers previously arrested a 32-year-old man from Chatham soon after the tragic incident. He too remains in custody.

A cordon remains in place on Thorold Road as detectives continue to make enquiries. An alleyway adjacent to the crime scene has since reopened.

Investigators are now urging any witnesses who are yet to speak to police to come forward. Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcams are also asked to check for relevant footage.
