The issues start today (Friday, December 5) in some cases, and others don’t end until Sunday (December 7)
London Underground passengers need to be aware of line closures on what is sure to be a very busy festive weekend as three Tube lines will face problems. The TfL network issues start today (Friday, December 5) in some cases, and others don’t end until Sunday (December 7).
This could impact Londoners hoping to dart around the capital and get their Christmas shopping sorted sooner rather than later. It’s not just London Underground services that will be affected, the Elizabeth Line and parts of the London Overground will also be hit. The Metropolitan line will be out of use between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge on Saturday (December 6) and Sunday (December 7).
The Northern line will also be temporarily out of action with no service on the Night Tube between Charing Cross and Golders Green, and High Barnet and Mill Hill East. And on Saturday and Sunday there is zero service between Archway and High Barnet/Mill Hill East all weekend.
Meanwhile there will be no action on the Piccadilly line on Saturday and Sunday between Acton Town and Uxbridge. On the Elizabeth Line last train from Heathrow T5 (12.07am) will terminate at Ealing Broadway.
And there is no service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway on Sunday until 7.45am. Trains will also not stop at Woolwich until 10am. The DLR will also have no service between Tower Gateway and Shadwell.
But the chaos doesn’t stop there, as Sunday will see no service between Barking and Barking Riverside on the Suffragette line. Similarly, there will be zero on service between South Tottenham and Barking Riverside until 12.45pm.
If you need to use any of the above services, then you should replan your journey use Transport for London ’s (TfL) journey planner here.
