Police name man charged after pedestrian in 30s killed in North West London collision

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal collision in North West London last week. Police were called to Chapel Close, Willesden at 12.44pm on Wednesday, December 3, following reports of a collision between a car and pedestrians.

Police attended with paramedics and a man in his 30s died at the scene. He has since been named as Ruben Nunes, 34, from Peterborough. His family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A police investigation was launched and a man was arrested in connection with the incident. Shakaine Dwyer, 29, of Willesden was charged today (Sunday, December 7) with causing death by dangerous driving. He will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 December.

A 32-year-old man was also arrested on Thursday, December 4, on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains on bail as enquiries continue.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses and those with any information or dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident, including the period before and after the collision. Contact police on 101 or use the MIPP portal.
