Daniel Anjorin was killed in a sword attack in Hainault on Tuesday, April 30. The 36-year-old suspect was wielding a sword after crashing his van into a house, injuring five people.
Of those injured, two were police officers trying to stop the horrific event. The incident occurred just before 7am and the man was Tasered and detained 22 minutes after the police received their first call.
Residents have told MyLondon they heard ‘screaming’ in the morning from the police and then from Daniel’s mother. Neighbour Sheryl Carter said: “It was four doors away, we heard it all. My daughter was about to go out. I said ‘It’s time you go out to school’, then she heard the screaming.

“I just thought this is crazy, I heard the police shout ‘drop it’ then I heard ‘We need to stop the bleeding’. Not long after I heard a scream which came from the mum. My neighbour saw her running and then she dropped and had to be held back by police.”
The Met have thanked any witnesses who have already come forward and shared dashcam, doorbell and mobile phone footage with them. They ask for anyone with further information to contact them.
The police added: “We are aware of speculation about previous police contact with the suspect. Urgent checks of our systems have so far found no trace of a prior incident so far but we are working to be absolutely certain.”
