Arsenal will be looking to sustain their title challenge this weekend, as they travel to Old Trafford to take on age-old foes Manchester United.
With title rivals Man City taking on Fulham in the Saturday early kick-off, Arsenal will likely find themselves having to win against United in order to retain top spot in the Premier League table, with City still retaining their game in hand over the Gunners. Mikel Arteta has very few injury concerns heading into the game, with the only question marks being over the potential inclusion of Jurrien Timber, who has recently played for the under-21 side as he steps up his recovery.
So, how could the clash between Man United and Arsenal? Let’s take a look at what FC 24 thinks could happen.
We simulated Man United vs Arsenal to get a score prediction
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
We predict that United could line up in a 4-3-2-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Evans, Dalot; McTominay, Mainoo; Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund.
We predict that Arsenal could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Raya; White, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko; Rice, Jorginho, Odegaard; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli.
United dealt Arsenal a hammer blow in the 15th minute because, after a strong start from the home side, Hojlund and Fernandes combined with a bit of magic to make it 1-0. Fernandes played a delicious through ball to the Danish striker, who turned and produced an outstanding finish into the far corner to open the scoring at Old Trafford.
Arsenal were struggling and needed the half-time whistle, with United knocking on the door to try and get that second goal, and the Gunners could count themselves lucky to get in at the break just a goal down. In the second-half, Arsenal were much improved and put in an outstanding performance to turn the game on its head, with two goals from Kai Havertz completing the comeback.
The first goal was created by Declan Rice, who threaded a pass through to the German forward, who held off Casemiro and drilled a finish past Onana into the far corner. The second goal came very late in the game, the 87th minute to be exact, with Gabriel Martinelli skinning Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the left before squaring for Havertz to tap home.
United’s second-half performance proved costly, particularly with Arsenal’s vast improvement after the break.
EA FC 24 predicted final score: Man United 1-2 Arsenal
