Live: Twickenham London bus fire updates as firefighters tackle blaze in busy road

A London bus has caught fire this afternoon, causing huge flames to erupt in a busy street. Video footage from the scene in Richmond Road, Twickenham, posted earlier this afternoon shows fire crews in breathing apparatus tackling the blaze.

Sirens can be heard in the background. A number of people can also be seen looking on amid the response from emergency personnel.

Later, images showed the burnt out front of the bus burnt after the vehicle fire had been extinguished.

The Mirror reports that no injuries have been reported, and enquiries from the police and fire brigade are ongoing.

A Met Police spokesperson told the newspaper: “Emergency services were called at 1.20pm on Saturday, May 18, to a bus on fire in Richmond Road, Twickenham. There were no reported injuries. Enquiries continue alongside London Fire Brigade colleagues.”
