Sky members can watch blockbusters like Bridgerton, House of the Dragon and Baby Reindeer completely free with the deal, but it’s not around for long

You can try Sky Stream and Netflix free for a month

Shoppers are being warned that a free Sky TV and Netflix deal expires this week. The TV and broadband provider is giving away a one-month free trial of the Sky Stream package that comes packed with premium Sky channels and a Netflix subscription.

Sky Stream is a new way of watching Sky that lets members stream live and on-demand content to the TV using Wi-Fi instead of a satellite dish or aerial. It usually costs £31 a month, but customers can try it absolutely free for 31 days if they sign up before 11.59pm on Thursday (May 23).

Sky Stream gives access to the biggest releases from premium channels like Sky Atlantic – including the upcoming second season of House of the Dragon – as well as bingeable box sets like Succession, Game of Thrones and True Detective. What’s more, with Netflix included, members can enjoy blockbuster shows like Bridgerton and Baby Reindeer at no extra cost.

Sky Stream also gives easy access to thousands of films and shows on streaming apps like Disney+, Apple TV+ and Amazon’s Prime Video. After the free trial period, members can choose to cancel the plan, opt for a rolling contract at £31 a month with the freedom to cancel any time or sign up to Sky Stream for 18 months at £26 a month.

Sky Stream offers a plug in and play setup, meaning there’s no engineer visit needed to get it up and running. The service is also getting a raft of free updates, including the ability to fast forward and rewind with voice control and lower latency on Sky Sports Main Event.

Elsewhere, shoppers can currently get a 43” Sky Glass – Sky’s 4K UHD smart TV with Sky and Netflix built in – for the equivalent of just 47p per day over a 30-day month, while those opting for the larger 65” screen will pay less than £1 per day. Alternatively, Disney+ offers a range of new and upcoming shows, including Star Wars: The Acolyte, The Bear and Shōgun.

The streamer will give members the equivalent of two months free if paying for a year up front on the Standard or Premium plans, while those that prefer to pay monthly can now join the ‘with Ads’ plan for £4.99.
