A woman has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed early this morning (Friday, May 24) in New Cross. The emergency services raced to the junction of Lewisham Way and Parkfield Road and around 8.55am.
Met Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics found the women with stab injuries in the area of Lewisham. The following London bus routes have been left on diversion as police cordon off the area to collect evidence: 53, 177, 225, and 453.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The woman was taken to a near-by hospital where her condition is currently being assessed. At this early stage, there have been no arrests. Officers are currently carrying out fast-time enquiries into the circumstances.
“Parkfield Road and Amersham Vale will remain closed. If you have any information about the incident then please come forward to police quoting CAD1891/24MAY24.”
A London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.56am to reports of an incident at the junction of Lewisham Way and Parkfield Road. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in a response car and an incident response officer.
“Our first paramedics arrived on scene in four minutes. We treated a woman at the scene before taking her to a major trauma centre.”
