A black Ford Fiesta was involved in a shooting in Dagenham on Wednesday afternoon (June 5). The incident has left a 23-year-old man injured, the Metropolitan Police has said.
Police were called to Porters Avenue in Dagenham shortly after 1pm on Wednesday to reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound and rushed him to hospital. His injuries were considered neither life-threatening nor life-changing. Police previously reported that he was 22 yesterday. He is 23 years old, according to latest police reports.
Following investigations overnight, the Metropolitan Police believe that a black Ford Fiesta was involved in the shooting. Detective Inspector Iain Wallace of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who has information that could assist our investigation.”

He added: “We believe that a black coloured Ford Fiesta was involved and are keen to hear from anyone who has information or footage concerning that vehicle.” Police also think the shooting took place at Wren Road, Dagenham with the victim making his way to Porters Avenue, where emergency services were called.
No arrests have been made, and extra police remain in the area around the scene.
