An ‘accident’ has left a section of the North Circular closed for seven hours with barrier repairs and accident investigation work taking place. Traffic and travel website Inrix is reporting that the A406 North Circular Southbound is closed around Woodford from the A104 Woodford New Road (Waterworks Corner, South Woodford) to A12 Eastern Avenue (Redbridge Roundabout, Redbridge).
The major road has been closed since 5am and it has led to severe delays and diversions so only head through if absolutely necessary and leave with plenty of time. The incident is also having an impact on the M11 Southbound at Junction 4 with the exit slip road to the North Circular Road closed.
There has also been a warning issued to those to anyone racing at Lee Valley Velopark in Stratford today (June 15), as there are ‘severe delays on the M11 and road closures on the North Circular’. The Met Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) have been contacted for comment.
