A major Tube station was closed as a result of flooding due to heavy rain in London. Paddington Station was shut due to flooding as TfL access was reporting that the main lines affected by the closure were the Hammersmith and City and Circle lines.
In an update about the incident at Paddington, TfL wrote: “This station is closed due to flooding caused by heavy rain.”
Elizabeth line platforms A & B can be accessed by exiting London Paddington National Rail station via the exit next to platform 1 and entering Paddington Elizabeth line station by the adjacent escalators or lifts. You can reroute your journey on TfL’s journey planner here .
The government has shared three separate flood alerts for London. The first warning covers the area from Putney Bridge to Teddington Weir. Areas such as Putney, Croydon, Greenwich and Twickenham are affected.
Elsewhere on the London Underground, there were minor delays on the Piccadilly Line due to a signal failure at Chiswick Park.
