A heat-health alert has been issued for London. The heatwave alert is in place from Monday, June 24, to Thursday, June 27.
The yellow warning comes from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). The alert is aimed at the health and social care sector, warning them that there may be more vulnerable people needing help due to the hot weather.
UKHSA writes : “Minor impacts are probable across the health and social care sector, including: Increased use of healthcare services by the vulnerable population; increase in risk of mortality amongst vulnerable individuals and increased potential for indoor environments to become very warm.”
