The new Blues boss, Enzo Maresca, will officially start his tenure on July 1 after replacing Mauricio Pochettino in the hot seat at Stamford Bridge. However, talks have already taken place as Maresca looks to put his own stamp on the squad.
With the club working hard behind the scenes to complete signings, two deals have already been completed for Tosin Adarabioyo and Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian. The teenager will remain in his homeland for another season before moving to London next summer.
Chelsea were eyeing a deal for Crystal Palace star Michael Olise but pulled out of the race after concerns about the potential cost involved with that deal. He is now set to join Bayern Munich. With alternatives being explored, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams was a player of interest but Chelsea are not thought to be pursuing a deal at this stage.
Elsewhere, Omari Kellyman is set to become the Blues’ third signing after a reported £19million deal was agreed for the midfielder with Villa. Ian Maatsen will head the other way while there is still attention over the futures of Omari Hutchinson, Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah, and Armando Broja.
